Departures Yamada Schmidt to leave blindness foundation Bill Schmidt will step down as CEO of the $72M-revenue Foundation Fighting Blindness once a replacement is found, the Columbia, Md.-based charity recently announced. Schmidt has led FFB for 12 years. He previously was VP of public affairs at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International. He has a law degree from DePaul University. Recruitment firm Spencer Stuart is assisting in the search for a successor.
