GaineDepartures Derks exits Muscular Dystrophy Association Steve Derks has stepped down as CEO of the $140M-revenue Muscular Dystrophy Association. Kristine Welker, a member of the board of directors, was appointed interim CEO. Before joining MDA in 2012, Derks was CEO of the Illinois division of the American Cancer Society. He previously was VP for the Advocate Health Care hospital system in Chicago. Recruitment firm Korn Ferry is assisting in the search for a successor.
