Some 50 groups—most of them associations—are urging Congress to address what they say is the abuse of the nation's legal system by so-called "patent trolls." In a letter delivered to congressional leaders July 17, the coalition argues that managing frivolous patent suits has become an expensive distraction for a large cross-section of American businesses."Instead of focusing on innovation, job creation and economic growth, we are forced to deal with legal games that have serious consequences," the letter states.
