Superstorm Sandy disrupted the plans of most associations as it pummelled the Northeast with rains and high winds As federal offices in Washington, D.C., closed in preparation for superstorm Sandy Oct. 29, associations in the surrounding region followed suit, canceling events and telling employees to stay home. Among organizations closed as of Oct. 30 were ASAE, National Court Reporters Association, Air Conditioning Contractors of America, Credit Union National Association, the National Retail Federation and the American Insurance Association, just to name a few.
