CEO DATELINE - ASAE announces Summit Award winners

Six association programs—all aimed at helping to "solve some of the world's problems"—have been named 2018 Summit Award winners , ASAE announced Wednesday.
ASAE launched The Power of A campaign in 2009 to increase awareness about issues that impact associations and to spotlight the expertise and resources available in the association community for policymakers and other key audiences, according to the association. The Summit Award is the highest level of recognition. This year's award winners will be recognized during ASAE's Power of A—Summit Awards Dinner Oct. 3.
"Associations strive to educate and support their members which in turn creates opportunities to impact society," ASAE CEO John Graham said. "Summit Award programs help tell the story about how associations leverage their members' expertise and other resources to solve some of the world's problems."

American Counseling Association
Program: Competencies for LGBTQ-Affirmative Counseling
American Diabetes Association, JDRF, Insulin for Life, Endocrine Society, T1D Exchange, Research!America, American Association of Diabetes Educators, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists
Program: Diabetes Emergency Relief Coalition Response to Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria
American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
Program: ASHA's Country Capacity Building Initiative with PAHO/WHO
Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)
Program: IFT Documentary Film: Food Evolution
NRF Foundation
Program: RISE Up (Retail Industry Skills & Education)
Winners were selected by the Power of A Awards Judging Committee, which received 110 entries. In addition to the six Summit Award winners, the Power of A Awards Judging Committee selected 16 association programs to receive a Power of A Gold Award (including the six Summit Award winners) and 34 associations for a Power of A Silver Award. http://bit.ly/2MrIzVC
