A Batman statue and baseball uniform from the 1992 film A League of Their Own are among the movie props decorating the Motion Picture Association's recently reopened offices at 1600 I (Eye) Street NW in Washington, D.C.
The movie industry trade association publicly debuted its renovated offices during an Oct. 16 party attended by several members of Congress and studio executives. The new space includes a movie theater with expanded seating capacity, an event venue with floor-to-ceiling windows and a museum-style exhibit featuring props, costumes and memorabilia from iconic films and television shows, according to MPA.
"Our new home celebrates our historic past, while allowing us to move forward, innovate and advocate on behalf of the dynamic film, television, and streaming content industry," MPA CEO Charles Rivkin said in a statement.
Movie memorabilia currently housed at MPA's offices include cowboy boots worn by James Dean in the film Giant, the necklace worn by Kate Winslet in Titanic, the Sorting Hat from the Harry Potter films and the Aquaman costume from the recent movie of the same name. New memorabilia will be rotated into the space periodically.
