IdTA is a $55,000-revenue association with five members. The group's website lists only a single employee: President Andrew Howell, who is a partner at the firm Monument Advocacy.
Two of IdTA's members are already SIA members while the other three will become members of the larger association after the merger. They will guide a new SIA Identity and Biometric Technology Advisory Board.
"SIA has a successful record of providing education and advocacy to the identification sector over many years," SIA CEO Don Erickson said. "However, through the involvement of these notable global businesses on the Identity and Biometric Technology Advisory Board, we are excited to increase SIA's value proposition for participating companies."
SIA is a Silver Spring, Md.-based organization that reported $7.2 million in revenue on its most recent tax records.
