The Security Industry Association announced Monday the group has teamed up with the University of Phoenix to offer employees at its member companies 10 full-tuition scholarships to the online university.
The partnership with the university's College of Information Systems and Technology will go to full-time employees seeking either a graduate or undergraduate degree. Emphasis will be placed on employees seeking degrees that relate to the security industry.
"This opportunity represents precisely the sort of value SIA strives to provide its members, and I am very grateful to University of Phoenix for working with us to help change the lives of 10 ambitious individuals," SIA CEO Don Erickson said.
Tuition for full-time undergraduate students at the University of Phoenix is $9,467 for the current academic year, according to the website CollegeCalc.org.
Scholarship applicants must submit three essays and a letter of recommendation. Submissions must be made by Jan. 10. However, SIA and University of Phoenix will stop accepting applications once 150 qualified submissions have been received.
Recipients of the scholarship will be notified by March. http://bit.ly/2hA5O3P
