The Solar Energy Industries Association unveiled a new campaign Wednesday to help consumers switch to solar.
The campaign largely consists of documents helping consumers understand the fundamentals of solar energy, better compare competing bids from solar providers and prepare for what a switch to solar means for their homes' power. The resources will be provided to governors, attorneys general, state consumer advocates, public utility commissions and other organizations that often interact with the public.
"We've been developing top-of-the-line resources for years—now it's about spreading the word and getting these resources into the hands of people who need it," SEIA CEO Abigail Ross Hopper said.
More than 1.4 million U.S. homes are currently powered by solar energy, according to SEIA. The industry expects another 3 million to start using solar by 2021. http://bit.ly/2oCH9eZ
