Groups laud passage of Farm Bill in Senate The U.S. Senate approved a new five-year Farm Bill Monday, and even though its fate in the House of Representatives is uncertain at best, several groups congratulated senators for passing the legislation. "The bill supports fruits and vegetables in ways that will boost consumption and help provide healthful options to Americans—through block grants, nutrition programs and pest and disease research," said Tom Stenzel, CEO of United Fresh, an association representing the produce industry.
