Groups back bill to prevent mandatory GMO labeling Thirty-five associations and other organizations have endorsed a bill designed to limit state efforts to mandate labels for foods containing genetically modified organisms. The Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act, which was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives, will establish a voluntary federal labeling standard for food and beverage products made with genetically modified ingredients.
