Coal groups upset with mercury decision A federal appeals court has upheld new Environmental Protection Agency rules limiting mercury and other emissions from coal- and oil-fired power plants—a decision at least two business groups said would cost jobs. The U.S. Court of Appeals of D.C. said the EPA acted properly when it set the new emission limits. But the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity said the regulation and others like it will lead to the loss of more than 544,000 jobs.
