Supreme Court ruling on textbooks draws sharp reactions The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that copyrighted items made overseas can be resold for a profit—a decision earning both praise and scorn from the association community. The case involved a Thailand student who had created a business buying college textbooks abroad and then reselling them in the United States. One of the publishers sued in court, saying he infringed on the company's exclusive right to distribute books.
