Restaurant, convenience store associations divided over menu labeling Groups representing grocery and convenience stores have thrown their support behind federal legislation that would require chain restaurants to provide nutritional information about their menu items—a bill the National Restaurant Association strongly opposes. Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, food establishments with at least 20 locations must post calorie counts and other nutritional facts about the foods they sell.
