Groups shift "doc fix" fight to the Senate Heavyweight medical groups are steamed that the U.S. House of Representatives passed a Medicare pay patch bill on a voice vote Thursday—when many lawmakers weren't even on the floor. They are now pushing Senators to reject the legislation, even though Medicare payments to physicians will be cut 24 percent April 1 without action. A Senate vote is scheduled for Monday. The American Osteopathic Association said it "denounces" the House action.
