The $7 million-revenue Utilities Telecom Council announced Tuesday that CEO Connie Durcsak has died. A cause of death was not immediately provided.
Durcsak joined UTC in 2011. She had previously been senior director of industry services at PCIA—The Wireless Infrastructure Association, where she worked for more than 10 years. Before entering the association sector, she was a senior process engineer at RGS Associates as well as a principal consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
UTC has not released details surrounding Durcsak's death, saying her family has requested privacy. The group has appointed CFO Steve Vick interim CEO.

"Connie was a strong leader, a great visionary and an outstanding wife, mother, friend and mentor," Ron Taylor, UTC board chairman, said in a statement. "We are all in a state of shock at this unbelievable loss and we ask for prayers and support for her family, the UTC staff and the greater UTC membership."
UTC credited Durcsak's leadership with expanding both global membership and advocacy efforts. She "set a new vision for UTC as the source and resource for the industry on all matters related to communications and information technologies for utilities, pipeline companies and other critical infrastructure industries," the association said.
Durcsak is survived by her husband David and two daughters. No funeral arrangements have been announced at this time.
