Christine Duffy exits CLIA to skipper Carnival

Duffy Cruise Lines International Association CEO Christine Duffy was named president of the 24-ship Carnival Cruise Lines, the travel and leisure company announced Dec. 17. Duffy will take her post Feb. 1 as head of the largest of the nine cruise brands operated by parent company Carnival Corp., marking her return to the for-profit travel sector. She became CEO of CLIA in January 2011, leaving her position as CEO of Maritz Travel, where she had worked since 2004. Carnival's holdings also include Princess Cruises, Holland America and Cunard.
