Ex-Commerce Official to Lead ITAA

The Information Technology Association of America has selected a former undersecretary for technology as its next president and chief executive officer. Phillip J. Bond, who will start with ITAA in August 2006, brings both public and private sector experience to the new role. From 2001 to 2005, he was undersecretary for technology at the Commerce Department and chief of staff to Commerce Secretary Donald Evans from 2002 to 2003. In that capacity, he supervised a bureau of more than 3,000 employees. Bond also served as an advisor to the Bush campaign on technology issues.
