Former ASAE head dies

Bill Taylor helped turn struggling organization around Taylor Bill Taylor, who led ASAE as president and CEO from 1982-1998, died June 8 in a Southfield, Mich., hospice. He was 83. Taylor first worked with ASAE as a volunteer leader in numerous capacities, eventually rising to chair the board of directors in 1974-1975. In 1976, he received ASAE's highest recognition of volunteer service, The Key Award. During his first year as president of the association, he executed a "million dollar turnaround" turning a $500,000 debt into a $500,000 surplus by his first annual convention, according to the organization.
