An open door for colleagues and an emphasis on transparency and consensus have propelled Stephen Sandherr through a 30-year “second tour of duty” with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). He’ll be retiring from his CEO position in March. Sandherr started at AGC in 1984, but left in 1989 because he felt his advancement opportunities were limited.
