Aviation group taps former healthcare leader and plane enthusiast as CEO

By Tavia Evans Gilchrist A former healthcare leader with strong ties to the Republican administrations, will take over the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association as its next CEO. Craig Fuller, who led the National Association of Chain Drug Stores from 1999 to 2006, will join AOPA in October as president-elect and take the helm on January 1, 2009. Fuller succeeds AOPA president Phil Boyer who plans to retire at the end of 2008. Pat Friel, partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ Washington DC office, led the search.
