New ASAE chair aims to engage small association staff

Outgoing Chair Velma Hart endeavored to add diversity to broaden ASAE agenda; shares parting advice with incoming leader. The new chair of ASAE, Karen L. Hackett, CEO of the Rosemont, Ill.-based American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, is grateful that the beginning of her tenure is not marked with a crisis.
