New GPS association on the way The global positioning system industry is forming a new association to lobby lawmakers and educate the public about the technology, according to the industry publication InsideGNSS. The GPS Innovation Alliance, to be based in Washington, D.C., and will be announced jointly by the Coalition to Save Our GPS and the GPS Industry Council within the next several days. A launch party is reportedly scheduled for Feb. 13.
