Government Relations Mark J. Schuermann joined The Financial Services Forum as senior vice president for government relations effective Oct. 3. He was previously senior director for federal government relations at student loan provider Sallie Mae, Inc. Schuermanns Hill experience includes staff positions with Harold Ford, Sr. (D-Tenn.), Harold Ford, Jr. (D-Tenn.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

Christopher W. Hansen, a senior executive with AARP, will become the next CEO of the American Electronics Association, according to the organization this week. Hansen will succeed William T. Archey, who is retiring this year from the trade group after 13 years at the helm. Hansen will officially start the job in November.

Cotton Board names new leadership The Memphis, Tenn.-based Cotton Board has named Drayton Campbell Mayers as president and CEO. The quasi-governmental nonprofit Cotton Board worked with search firm Korn/Ferry International for several months on the search resulting in Mayers appointment.
