New website helps hospitals with IRS Form 990

A partnership of four hospital-related associations launched a new website to help member hospitals cope with the revised IRS Form 990. The 990 Coalition for Hospitals, established by the American Health Lawyers Association, the Catholic Health Association of the United States, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and VHA Inc., created the site to offer information and advice to hospital professionals.

Banking Trade Associations to Merge

The memberships of American Bankers Association and America’s Community Bankers still need to vote this summer on a proposed merger of the banking trade groups. But if both sides agree to combine their forces, they will become one of Washington’s largest trade associations and will dramatically expand the power of the banking lobby. Both groups say they hope to complete the proposed merger by November.

Archey Leaving AeA in 2008, Search Under Way

The Board of Directors of electronics association AeA announced that president William “Bill” T. Archey plans to retire in Feb. 2008 after 13 years at the helm. Recruitment firm Korn/Ferry International is handling the search for his replacement at the $16.9 million revenue group.
