Online, trade groups seek to update their web image

More organizations are retooling their online presence and adding interactive enhancements, the better to address a new generation of users and streamline communication with their members. The Salt Institute, online at www.saltinstitute.org, relaunched its 13-year-old site in February. The target: members and the general public who are looking for documents or the latest research on the industry’s chief product. The group has added a members-only section, consolidated nearly 60 industry blogs and is offering research and factoids to engage the public.
