Rough economy prolongs drop in executive searches

Trade group study reports the number of retained executive searches are down for the third quarter; revenues also declined more than 6 percent. Economic uncertainty crept into the executive search industry and is causing a slowdown in searches started, according to the Association of Executive Search Consultants. Globally, the number of new retained executive searches continued to fall in the third quarter, slipping 6.1 percent since last quarter and down 3.5 percent compared to third quarter 2007, according to AESCs quarterly study State of the Industry Statistics, released Nov. 4.
