Fiels records video for ALA's Banned Books Week The American Library Association holds virtual conferences and virtual meetings, so it was only natural to sponsor a Virtual Read-Out. Fiels People nationwide submitted YouTube videos of themselves reading banned books for ALAs 30th annual Banned Books Week, Sept. 30 - Oct. 6, including Executive Director Keith Michael Fiels. Fiels chose a passage from one of his favorite books, Slaughterhouse-Five. The influential Kurt Vonnegut novel includes the firebombing of Dresden in World War II, and has been banned many times for profanity, violence and sexual content.
