Lobbyists seek to reopen Capitol Hill to visitors

Cannon House Office Building Lobbyists are asking Congressional leaders to reopen congressional office buildings to people without appointments starting July 11."What better message to send to the public that we are turning the corner on two years of very difficult and challenging times for this country than by announcing that Capitol Hill is again open to the public?" said a March 9 letter sent to House and Senate leaders and signed by more than 200 associations, lobbying firms and individual lobbyists. Before the pandemic, members of the public could enter House and Senate office buildings without an appointment.
