New Illinois nonprofit bill draws praise from association

Recent changes to Illinois state law will make it easier for in-state nonprofits, including some 2,000 Illinois associations, to conduct member votes by mail and electronically, say association leaders and law experts. The bill, signed into law by Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and taking effect Jan. 1, 2010, amends the General Not for Profit Corporation Act of 1986.
