League of Cities names former Florida mayor to top spotThe $17M-revenue National League of Cities has hired Clarence Anthony as executive director, effective January 2013. He replaces Donald Borut, who is retiring after leading the group for 22 years. Anthony currently is president of Anthony Government Solutions, a policy and business development consulting firm. Previously, he had been mayor of South Bay, Fla., for 24 years as well as elected president of both the Florida League of Cities and NLC.
