Health insurance proposal alarms D.C.-based groups

Businesses with fewer than 100 employees would be required to purchase insurance through city-run health benefit exchange Dozens of associations and other nonprofit groups based in Washington, D.C., are growing increasingly concerned about the city’s plans for implementing the Affordable Care Act. They’re objecting to a proposal to consolidate city-approved health plans into one exchange, and require individuals and businesses with 100 or fewer employees to obtain insurance through that Web portal, beginning in 2014.
