Health groups ask supercommittee to spare programs from cuts
More than 100 top executives sign letter asking federal lawmakers to reject proposed 25 percent cut in chronic disease fund= Nearly 700 hundred national, state and local organizations have sent a letter to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction asking members to reject a proposed 25 percent reduction in a federal fund used for disease prevention and public health.
