Charles Dean Connor, a Red Cross alumnus with a background in communications, succeeds Bernadette Toomey, who left after 17 months The American Lung Association has promoted Charles Dean Connor to the post of president and CEO. He succeeds Bernadette Toomey, who resigned Dec. 8. Connor joined the $49 million ALA as its chief operating officer nearly a year ago from the American Red Cross, where he spent five years as senior vice president for communication and marketing.
