LD-203 reports demonstrate little beyond basic compliance effort

On July 31, tens of thousands of registered lobbyists and organizations that employ lobbyists filed a new disclosure document, the LD-203. Part of the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007, the first of the semi-annual disclosure forms submitted to Congress reports on such things as a lobbyist’s personal contributions to election campaigns and costs for honoring covered officials, including members of Congress, the executive branch and their staff.
