Red Cross may rent vacant offices to generate revenue

The American Red Cross has relocated some staffers from its downtown Washington, D.C. headquarters to a satellite office near Dulles, Va. The charity, which has faced budget shortfalls in recent months, is now considering renting out the vacant D.C. offices to generate additional revenue. The national office once housed 3,000 staff members. Weve moved about 60 employees to our Dulles office, said Laura Howe, Red Cross director of disaster public affairs.
