Chris Spear is named to succeed former Kansas Gov. Bill Graves Spear The American Trucking Associations has tapped its former top lobbyist to take the driver's seat of the $48 million-revenue organization. Chris Spear will become ATA president and CEO on July 9. He succeeds Bill Graves, the former Kansas governor who has led Arlington, Va.-based association for 13 years. By accepting the position, Spear steps into one of the most high-profile association leadership roles inside the Beltway. Tom Donohue led the organization for 13 years before being chosen to head the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1997. The job then went to Walter McCormick, who later became CEO of USTelecom.… Read More
