Both firms are owned by privately held parent company Collegium
Two association management firms in the states of California and Washington have merged into a single entity.
San Francisco-based LoBue & Majdalany Association Management will become part of Seattle-based SBI Association Management, according to statement. Both SBI and L&M are owned by Collegium, a privately held parent company of firms providing professional services to the nonprofit sector. SBI will continue to operate independently.
"This merger is part of our overall strategy to strengthen this important sector," Craig Leach, founder and CEO of Collegium, said in a news statement. "We continue to be interested in AMCs looking to join the ranks of Collegium to further deepen and broaden the services we offer."
SBI clients include the Association of Academic Health Science Libraries, the Association of Donor Relations Professionals and the International Ombudsman Association, according to its website. L&M had taken down its website and replaced it with a statement about the merger at the time of the announcement. L&M had been in business for 29 years.
SBI President Alope Pardee said the merger adds a variety of national association clients in the technology and health care sectors to her firm's portfolio of regional, national and international associations.
"We are thrilled by this opportunity to expand our reach and welcome the L&M team and clients to SBI," Pardee said. "The additional executive expertise and experience that this merger brings will only amplify our impact."
L&M CEO Michael LoBue will transition to a new role with Collegium, although the statement did not specify his title. Michael Majdalany, vice president and COO of L&M, will become managing director of the SBI San Francisco office.
"Joining SBI will enable us to expand both the depth and breadth of the services we bring to our clients, while delivering the same personalized attention and association expertise L&M is known for," Majdalany said.
