100 top spenders on lobbying in Q2

About 100 nonprofit organizations spent at least $500,000 on lobbying in the second quarter of 2014, according to reports filed with Congress. The deadline for the April-June numbers was July 21. Leading the list, as usual, is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, spending (along with its Institute of Legal Reform) $28.8 million on advocacy. Together, the two entities spent almost exactly the same amount in the same quarter of the 2012 election year. The National Association of Realtors reported its highest quarterly spending, at $16.5 million.
