America's Health Insurance Plans taps former Medicare head as CEO

Tavenner to fill position that was held for more than two decades by her predecessor Tavenner Marilyn Tavenner, the former administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, has been named CEO of America's Health Insurance Plans, effective Aug. 24. Tavenner is best known in Washington circles for spearheading the problematic rollout of HealthCare.gov, the online health insurance marketplace created as a result of passage of the Affordable Care Act.
