Associations stay in the fray as health care hits home stretch

As Congress’ health care overhaul debate heads into the home stretch, Bill Dombi, vice president of legal affairs for the National Association for Home Care & Hospice, says the stakes for his association could not be higher. Under the massive bill approved Nov. 7 by the House, Medicare-funded home health care providers would face $54.7 billion in cuts over 10 years. The proposed cuts are so large they would mean “the demise of the home health care industry” if they became law, Dombi said.
