The IATA Travel Pass is being developed by the International Air Transport Association, CNN reported. The organization plans to roll out the app in March.
The free app will allow travelers to find information on vaccine requirements for their journeys and create a digital passport to verify they have met those requirements.
"The main priority is to get people traveling again safely," IATA said on its website. "In the immediate term that means establishing confidence in governments that systematic pre-departure COVID-19 testing can work as a replacement for quarantine requirements."
CNN noted the IATA's isn't the only app currently in the works to show travelers have received vaccines. The nonprofit Commons Project Foundation already has a CommonPass that is being used by some airlines while IBM is developing a "Digital Health Pass."
