Second NAR board president departs; another real estate association formed

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) — a lobbying powerhouse in Washington, D.C., with a bulging war chest and real estate agents in every congressional district — is facing twin crises as it grapples with the fallout from sexual harassment claims and a potentially industry-changing lawsuit.  As part of the fallout, Jason Haber, a top NAR critic, has joined with celebrity agent Mauricio Umansky to form a new group, the American Real Estate Association, as a potential alternative.
