Hoping to turn around a recent slump in bowhunting sales, the Archery Trade Association has unveiled a new website and Facebook campaign to attract new people to the sport as well as bring back those who may have previously dropped out.
Bowhunting 360 is an expansion of the association's existing Archery 360 campaign, which was launched in 2013 to promote archery. Bowhunting 360 will focus on the hunting aspect of the sport, with videos and articles showcasing the lifestyle.
"Since 2012, archery participation in America has grown by 26 percent, from 18.9 to 23.8 million Americans," ATA Jay McAninch said.
But that growth hasn't been accompanied by similar growth in bowhunting, which continues to lag behind in sales, he added.
"We hope Bowhunting 360 will strengthen bowhunting sales while also helping our industry recruit new as well as revive lapsed bowhunters," he said.
