Two association executives have joined the Bryce Harlow Foundation's board of governors, and the head of the National Restaurant Association has started her term as chair of the nonprofit organization.
The foundation was established in 1981 to promote integrity in lobbying and increase understanding about the role of the profession in shaping public policy. The organization announced Wednesday that nine people had joined the 25-member board, each for three-year terms:
- Steve Caldeira, president and CEO of the Household & Commercial Products Association;
- Nancy LeaMond, EVP and chief advocacy engagement officer at AARP;
- Stephanie Tomasso, association practice lead at Russell Reynolds Associates;
- Jane Adams, VP, federal government affairs for Johnson & Johnson;
- Kirk Blalock, principal at Fierce Government Relations;
- Lori Denham, principal at Kontoupes Denham Carr & Reid;
- Danny Diaz, founding partner of FP1 Strategies;
- Chris Leahy, VP and head of government relations and public policy at Bayer;
- Lynn Taylor, SVP, head of global healthcare government and public affairs at Merck;
NRA CEO Dawn Sweeney was named chair of the board. She succeeded Craig Purser, CEO of the National Beer Wholesalers Association, whose one-year term as chair expired.
Rich Gold, partner at Holland & Knight, was appointed vice chairman, and Katherine Lugar, CEO of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, was named secretary/treasurer.
"The Bryce Harlow Foundation is fortunate to continually attract talented and respected advocates to serve on the board," said Barbara Faculjak, foundation president. "Our board members are dedicated to the educational mission of the foundation and serve as excellent role models for Bryce Harlow Fellows, the next generation of government advocates."
