Association: Illegal betting on Super Bowl will total $3.8 billion Americans will make more than $3.8 billion in illegal bets on this year's Super Bowl, a "stark contrast" to the $100 million that is bet legally on the event every year, according to the American Gaming Association. AGA published its first forecast Thursday for the amount of money that is bet illegally on what is perhaps the nation's most popular sporting event.
