The Mortgage Bankers Association and National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals have forged a new partnership aimed at increasing both the number of Hispanic homeowners and mortgage banking professionals.
The partnership will consist primarily of marketing MBA's online education program, Mortgage Banking Bound, to college and universities with significant Latino enrollment. The groups will also work together to identify and recruit Latino instructors for the program and raise money for scholarships.
"The American Dream, to own your own home, is embraced by more people, from more backgrounds, than ever before," said David Stevens, CEO of MBA. "And yet real challenges remain for many Americans, especially first-time homebuyers, the self-employed and new Americans, to access credit."
"The housing industry needs a workforce that reflects today's diverse home buyer population," said Gary Acosta, CEO of NAHREP. "There are incredible career opportunities in real estate finance and the Mortgage Bankers Association is doing some of the most innovative work in attracting new entrants into the industry." http://bit.ly/1GZQ3cE
