The two dozen organizations include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Business Roundtable, National Association of Manufacturers, AFL-CIO, National Retail Federation, Bipartisan Policy Center, North America's Building Trades Unions, American Road & Transportation Builders Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Airports Council-North America and National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association.
In a July 8 statement, the coalition commended the 11 Democrats and 11 Republicans who have publicly backed what is called the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, initially agreed to in June between Biden and five senators from each party. The coalition also noted the endorsement of the House Problem Solvers Caucus, composed of 28 representatives from each party.
"Infrastructure modernization is a critical component of long-term economic growth and improved quality of life for every American," the statement said. "Don't let partisan differences get in the way of action—pass significant, meaningful infrastructure legislation now."
