The American Bar Association has updated its Mind Your Loved Ones, or MYLO, mobile app, allowing people to upload and share advance care directives and other documents with a few taps on their phone or tablet, ABA said in a May 7 news release.
Consider joining CEO Update. Membership gives full access to the latest intelligence on association management, career advancement, compensation trends and networking events, as well as hundreds of listings for senior-level association jobs.
The MYLO app is a "digital library for critical medical information," the app's website states. It allows individuals and their family members to store their own and each other's documents and data on their phone or tablet.
The latest version provides more options for loading information, and it allows users to print, fax or email information stored on it, according to ABA. Users can send documents to hospitals or other health-care providers.
"More and more adults of all ages are completing advance medical directives, such as health care powers of attorney and living wills, and that is a very good trend," Patricia Lee Refo, ABA board president, said in a statement. "The Mind Your Loved Ones app ensures immediate access to these important documents when and where they are needed."
The app is "important for adults caring for older parents or spouses and for parents managing the health information of children," according to the app website. "The biggest problem we have in making decisions for family members is that needed information is not in our hands at the right time and at the right place. MYLO solves this problem."
The MYLO app costs $9.99 for a one-year subscription in Apple's App Store and on Google Play. Non-ABA members can get two subscriptions for $7.99 through ABA's link, and ABA members can get two subscriptions for $4.99, according to the association.
The app is available for iPhones, Android phones, iPads and tablets. ABA worked with Mind Your Loved Ones Inc. to make the updates.
