A new association has formed to represent companies that manufacture fewer than 500,000 cigars per year.
The Boutique Cigar Association of America will represent smaller cigar brand owners and manufacturers, cigar industry news site Halfwheel reported. Founder Gaby Kafie, owner of Kafie 1901 Cigars, said the new organization would focus on education, organization and awareness.
An advisory board of 10 members from various sectors of the cigar industry has been established to oversee the creation of the new association. Membership in BCAA will be contingent upon also being a member of Cigar Rights of America, a group fighting stricter regulation of tobacco projects, Kafie told Halfwheel. http://bit.ly/2upyKD3
